Yesterday evening BP announced that they are taking steps to provide support to police, fire, emergency NHS ambulances, NHS trust non-emergency vehicles and older members of society in the UK during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Here at Blights have a role to play in our response. With effect from 21st March 2020 we will be offering the UK emergency services – police, fire, emergency NHS ambulances and NHS trust non-emergency vehicles – free fuel via their existing fuel card arrangements for their fleet vehicles. This will support the unprecedented stretch their services may face in the coming days and weeks.
Bernard Looney, BP chief executive said: “This crisis is affecting every part of society and all us of are trying to do what we can. It is vital that we provide support both to those on whom the rest us of depend and also to the most vulnerable in our society. We have identified two ways where we can use our resources and presence around the country to make a small contribution using our resources.”
